About this Book
Colin Lacey was born into a Christian home in Sussex, England, and was saved at the age of fifteen. He was subsequently baptised and received into fellowship at the assembly in Haywards Heath. Alongside his Christian service, he enjoyed a distinguished career in education, serving as head teacher of a large secondary school in the West Midlands for fourteen years before becoming involved in training and assessing aspiring head teachers.
Following his retirement, he continued travelling widely throughout the UK, teaching and ministering God's Word. In fellowship with the assembly at Manvers Gospel Hall, Bath, he has contributed regularly to Precious Seed International publications. His writings include commentaries on Judges, Nehemiah and 1 & 2 Kings in the What the Bible Teaches series, reflecting his dedication to the careful exposition and practical application of Scripture.
J. M. (Jim) Flanigan was born into a Christian family in Northern Ireland and was saved as a young man, being received into fellowship at Parkgate Assembly, East Belfast, in 1946. In 1972, he left secular employment to devote himself fully to the work of the Lord, becoming a widely respected Bible teacher, preacher and author.
His ministry took him throughout the British Isles, the USA, Canada, Australia and Israel, a country in which he maintained a special interest. Known for his clear, orderly and Christ-centred exposition of Scripture, he devoted much of his service to encouraging believers and unfolding the glories of the Person of Christ. A prolific writer, he authored numerous biblical expositions, including commentaries on Hosea, Jonah and Micah in the What the Bible Teaches series, and contributed regularly to well-known assembly magazines. His ministry and writings have been a lasting blessing to the Lord's people.
Marcus Hall was born into a Christian home in Southampton, and was saved at the age of nine. Later in teen-age years he was baptised and received into the fellowship of the local assembly. In secular employment he served until retirement in the Civil Service. He is indebted to his wife, Thelma, for her support in all his work for the Lord and particularly while writing this book. His burden and exercise is for the shepherding of the Lord’s people, and he has been an elder in the assembly at Pamber Heath, Hampshire for many years. He is also concerned that the people of God be taught His Word consistently and consecutively, and has ministered the Word throughout the mainland of Great Britain, mainly in the South of England, for some thirty-five years.
