John Blanchard (1932–2021) was born in Guernsey in the Channel Islands and became one of Britain's best-known Christian evangelists, Bible teachers and authors. He trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation in October 1954 and entered full-time Christian service in 1962. His preaching and teaching ministry subsequently took him to many countries throughout the world, where he faithfully proclaimed the gospel and defended the truths of Scripture.
A gifted communicator and prolific writer, he authored around thirty books, including Right with God, Ultimate Questions, Whatever Happened to Hell? and Does God Believe in Atheists?, which won Best Christian Book at the 2001 UK Christian Book Awards. His widely distributed booklet Ultimate Questions reached millions of readers in numerous languages. Remembered for his clear gospel presentation, thoughtful Christian apologetics and commitment to biblical truth, he continued serving the Lord until his homecall in May 2021.
