Robert Plant was born in Essex but raised in Yorkshire with no Christian background. Watching the TV series in 1978, ‘The Voyage of Charles Darwin’, he became infuriated with those who refused to see Darwin’s ‘obvious’ scientific discovery that all life on earth evolved over millions of years.
Having met a Christian while at secondary school, he often debated with him on creation or evolution. During this time he looked unsuccessfully for evidence to support his belief in Darwin’s evolution. Having later trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour, he became convinced of the accuracy of the Bible, a young earth and a literal six-day creation period.
Robert left his employment as a safety manager in 1993 to become a full-time Christian evangelist. His preaching has taken him to different parts of the world where he has had the privilege of watching and photographing wildlife. Several of his own photographs appear throughout this publication. Robert is keen to show how the natural world around us displays the evidence of a Creator God rather than the unguided mutations of evolution.
Robert and his wife Karen live in Northern Ireland, have one married daughter, and two grandchildren.
Set during the turmoil of World War II, The Occupation Island Series follows two courageous young people whose island home falls under German occupation. Determined to stand against tyranny, they embark on a perilous journey across one hundred miles of sea, believing they may have a chance to help liberate not only their island but Europe itself.
Their adventure continues when, stranded on the Isle of Wight, they long to return home despite the dangers of war. When news reaches them that their escape has placed loved ones in jeopardy and a captured French resistance worker faces execution, they set out on another hazardous mission through enemy-controlled waters. Along the way, they must confront fear, uncertainty, and the question of whether God can truly help them in their darkest moments.
Filled with action, courage, faith, and historical intrigue, The Occupation Island Series is an inspiring wartime adventure for readers who enjoy stories of bravery, sacrifice, and hope against overwhelming odds.
