9 Beatitudes

The “Sermon on the Mount” is often referenced in everyday speech, even by people with only a limited understanding of the Bible. Perhaps, however, it is referenced far more than it is actually read, and it is rarely explained in depth, even amongst true believers despite these beatitudes lying at the very heart of the message of Christ. His teaching fundamentally transforms the character and mindset of the hearer. He did not come merely to gather followers whose faith consisted of mental agreement with certain truths. Rather, the whole life and character of His disciples was to be changed and conformed to His heavenly standards.

Each verse, commandment, beatitude, parable, feast, and day is briefly expounded in a format designed to be read in less than five minutes per chapter. Space for personal notes is also included at the end of each chapter.

All quotations and Scripture references are provided in footnotes. This allows each chapter to be read quickly while also supplying the biblical foundation for the interpretations presented, enabling readers to explore the subject more fully if they wish.

The reader is strongly encouraged to examine these Scriptures personally, for it is the Word of God that carries the power to transform our lives.
