Manuscripts arrive on my desk weekly, and sometimes it can take a few cups of coffee to get through them, but when the manuscript for Controlled Chaos arrived one afternoon and I started reading, I found myself not able to put it down until I had finished, and I knew it was something that our Board would be keen to publish. The result is the book "Controlled Chaos - Surgical Adventures in Chitokoloki Mission Hospital" and it arrived at our warehouse yesterday and we are currently working our way through the great number of pre-orders placed ahead of its release. "Controlled Chaos" follows the daily routine of life in Chitokoloki Mission - a remote African hospital. David Galloway spent some time at Chitokoloki and performed many surgical procedures and the book outlines the detailed experiences of many patients and the operations that were performed. It also gives insights into the reality of daily life in the local villages. It is our hope (and the author David's) that this record will result in making the reader more aware and able to pray, support or even visit the mission station.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet and work with David during the publication of this book. His heart to help others and his support of our own mission here at Ritchies left a lasting impression on me, and we are looking forward to working with him on an exciting new project towards the end of the year in the will of the Lord.
I highly recommend this book and I'm sure you, like me, will struggle to put it down.
